Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Language Engineer II to join their Amazon Transcribe Data Team. This role focuses on developing solutions for natural language data collections and is crucial to the success of GenAI services. The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse team of language engineers, linguists, data scientists, and program managers.

The role involves diving deep into high-profile projects to launch new product offerings, consulting with stakeholders, and improving processes for annotating transcribed conversations. You'll apply data-centric AI principles to understand model performance and ML pipelines, while using state-of-the-art ML and NLP techniques to analyze language representation.

Requirements For Language Engineer II, Amazon Transcribe

Python
  • PhD or Masters in Computational Linguistics, Linguistics with a computational component, or equivalent field
  • Excellent knowledge of semantics, pragmatics, conversation analysis, and/or discourse analysis
  • Experience owning and executing language data collection projects
  • Proficiency in Python and other analytics tools such as R
  • Experience in developing and evaluating data annotation and data quality metrics
