Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) to provide fast, affordable broadband access to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. As a Loads and Dynamics Engineer, you'll be part of a groundbreaking team working on spacecraft structural analysis and dynamics. You'll be responsible for performing critical analyses across the entire spacecraft lifecycle, from concept development to in-service operations. The role combines technical expertise in structural dynamics, finite element analysis, and spacecraft systems engineering.

Your work will directly impact the success of Project Kuiper's mission to bridge the digital divide. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, including GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) specialists, to solve complex engineering challenges. The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $105,600 to $185,000 per year, depending on location and experience, plus comprehensive benefits and equity.

Responsibilities For Loads and Dynamics Engineer, Project Kuiper

  • Perform structural/dynamic loads analyses, and multi-body dynamic simulations
  • Contribute to spacecraft structural/dynamics test planning
  • Create & maintain FEA models for all vehicle states
  • Perform pretest simulations and post-test data analysis
  • Work with GNC team to deliver linear modal models
  • Conduct pointing accuracy trades and build dynamic disturbance models

Requirements For Loads and Dynamics Engineer, Project Kuiper

Python
  • 3+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in dynamic analysis and testing (modal, random vibration, shock, and/or acoustics)
  • 3+ years experience with finite element analysis NASTRAN (or equivalent)
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
