Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking experienced Security Engineers to join their Security Analytics and AI Research group within AWS Security Services. This role is specifically focused on the GuardDuty team, which is responsible for developing core threat detection and machine learning algorithms for AWS's security services.

The position combines advanced security engineering with cutting-edge AI research, requiring expertise in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and threat detection. As a Malware Researcher/Security Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of defending AWS's global infrastructure, working on never-before-solved security challenges.

Responsibilities For Malware Researcher / Reverse Engineer - AWS, GuardDuty Security Analytics and AI Research

  • Research the latest malware detection evasion techniques
  • Design and develop signatures and tools to detect and mitigate threats
  • Work with data scientists to help develop and test detections for attack patterns
  • Build tools and systems to analyze emerging threats
  • Work with customers in response to requests related to suspicious files or false positives
  • Advise broader team on current threat landscape, tools & techniques
  • Reverse engineer and analyze malware to evaluate complex malicious code

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
