Amazon Robotics is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead a team of mechanical engineers in developing innovative robotics solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of robotics technology, leading projects from concept to production. The position involves managing multiple technical projects, developing team metrics, and working closely with cross-functional teams.

As a Manager Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering mechanical products to market while ensuring they meet performance targets and budget constraints. You'll lead a team of engineers, fostering their growth and development while maintaining high standards of excellence. The role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering combined with proven leadership abilities.

Responsibilities For Manager Mechanical Engineer

  • Owning the delivery of Mechanical products to market on time, in budget and at targeted performance
  • Scoping, managing, and delivering multiple technical projects from concept to production
  • Developing and reporting performance metrics for the mechanical engineering team
  • Recruiting and developing team members
  • Evaluating and identifying improvements to overall design processes
  • Maintaining high level communications with cross-functional team and partners
  • Interfacing with engineering managers, product management, and program management

Requirements For Manager Mechanical Engineer

  • BS / MS Mechanical Engineering (or similar field)
  • 10 years or more of experience in mechanical design, 3+ years of management experience
  • Familiar with industry standard CAD & FEA design tools
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a design team
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with project management of technical projects
  • Commitment to rigorous testing & validation practices
