AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking an Optical Network Development Manager to join their Network Product Development (NPD) team. This role is crucial in building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS across multiple global data centers.

The position sits within the Core Networking team, focusing on building Data Centers and the networks that enable their efficient operation. You'll be responsible for leading a team of skilled engineers who define, design, and develop optical solutions for Data Center Networks.

As a manager, you'll drive the development roadmap by understanding optical technology trends and customer requirements. You'll work closely with partners to deliver optical platforms that meet unique specifications while ensuring operational excellence. The role involves both technical leadership and people management, requiring you to balance strategic planning with hands-on engineering expertise.

Key responsibilities include developing project execution processes, driving quality metrics, managing team performance, and leading recruitment efforts. Requirements For Manager, Optical Network Development, NPD Interconnect

Linux
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineer or related field
  • 8+ years of industry experience in delivering optical solutions
  • 5+ years of experience building optical transceivers for data center networks
  • 4+ years of management experience including hiring/retention/development
  • 2+ years of experience delivering Optical Network solutions to customers
  • Knowledge of major protocols, topology design, network hardware, device configuration and traffic engineering
  • Experience working with ODMs and component suppliers
