The Reliability Engineering Manager position at Amazon's new launch site in Rome, Passo Corese represents a crucial leadership role in maintaining and optimizing the facility's engineering operations. As the site lead for all engineering matters, this position combines technical expertise with strategic leadership, requiring a strong background in both electrical and mechanical disciplines.
The role demands a unique blend of technical knowledge and leadership skills, as you'll be responsible for ensuring the facility's safety compliance, equipment reliability, and team development. You'll work closely with the EU Engineering team to implement standards and drive continuous improvement initiatives, while maintaining a focus on preventative maintenance and equipment availability.
This position offers an opportunity to shape the engineering culture at a new facility, working with cutting-edge automated systems including packaging machinery, sortation, and conveyor systems. The role requires someone who can think both tactically and strategically, managing day-to-day operations while planning for future growth and upgrades.

Responsibilities For Manager, Reliability Engineering
- Lead the engineering team and build a culture of safety
- Ensure statutory compliance requirements for safe working environment
- Manage equipment availability and work with EU Engineering team for future growth planning
- Implement and maintain preventative maintenance programmes
- Maintain equipment failure contingency plans
- Work with Site Management, Finance, and internal design teams for future planning
- Own annual reporting responsibilities and mentor direct reports
- Implement standards validated by the EU Engineering team
Requirements For Manager, Reliability Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or 2+ years experience in an Amazon engineering team
- 5+ years of Engineering team leadership experience
- Multi-skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Excellent communications skills in English and local language
- Experience with automated equipment including packaging machinery, sortation and conveyor systems
- Project management experience
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
