Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). This role is for a Manufacturing Engineer position working on the second shift (5:00PM - 1:00AM) supporting the production and testing of satellite assemblies.
The position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge space technology while helping to bridge the digital divide globally. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, managing daily operations, and working with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities include providing manufacturing engineering ownership of integrated and tested assemblies, supporting technician teams, resolving obstacles, and working with engineering teams to specify and build tools for Kuiper hardware builds. The role requires experience with space hardware development, qualification test procedures (QTP), and flight hardware acceptance test procedures (ATP).
The team culture is fast-paced and data-driven, with a focus on delivering the best product for customers. They maintain high standards and constantly seek ways to improve product performance, quality, and cost. The technical challenges are viewed as opportunities rather than obstacles.
Important note: Due to export control laws, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or legally admitted refugee/asylee.
The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $86,900 to $185,000 per year based on location and experience, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a challenging environment, has a passion for space technology, and wants to contribute to a project that will have global impact by providing internet access to underserved communities worldwide.
