Responsibilities For Mechanical Design Engineer, DC Engineering

  • Lead design within internal and external teams supporting data centers
  • Manage design consultancy firms to create, review and release data center designs
  • Work with local utilities to define site utility requirements
  • Define and approve project scopes, RFPs and RFIs
  • Work with local authorities to ensure compliance with building codes
  • Work with commissioning teams to validate installation and performance
  • Review and approve equipment submittals
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action for design-related problems
  • Work with regional vendors and manufacturers to specify mechanical equipment

Requirements For Mechanical Design Engineer, DC Engineering

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Several years of experience with mission critical air and water cooling HVAC design
  • Ability to research new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities
  • Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/construction
  • Ability to perform complex business case analysis and present to management
