As a Mechanical Engineer at Amazon Robotics, you will:

  • Develop innovative hardware designs for emerging robotic systems
  • Improve existing hardware to optimize performance and enhance customer experience
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production
  • Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations
  • Write requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures
  • Design and adapt holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems
  • Create design experiments and lead cross-functional automation of experiments

Key qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering
  • SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
  • Effective communication and technical writing skills
  • Experience with full product lifecycle
  • Ability to evaluate design, performance, and logistical tradeoffs

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficiency with FEA tools (SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS)
  • Experience in complex mechanical product design and sustaining
  • Proficiency with ANSI Y-14.5 documentation
  • Experience with tooled component design
  • Electronics packaging experience
  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software proficiency
