Description For Mechanical Engineer - Data Center Infrastructure, Field Engineering

Amazon is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their Field Engineering team supporting AWS datacenters. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic infrastructure planning and management. As a Field Engineer, you'll be the primary technical resource for your region, responsible for everything from initial project planning to ongoing maintenance and improvements of mission-critical facilities.

Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer - Data Center Infrastructure, Field Engineering

  • Provide full support for AWS datacenters from project start to maintenance
  • Solve problems, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action Plans
  • Support physical infrastructure operation team with training and procedure reviews
  • Propose data center upgrades and design solutions
  • Lead engineering audits on cooling, power distribution, and fire protection systems
  • Produce technical reports describing availability risks with recommendations
  • Act as resident engineer during new construction projects
  • Interact with multiple teams for standards maintenance and reliability

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer - Data Center Infrastructure, Field Engineering

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Over 3 years experience with industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities
  • Fluent English
  • Experience in reading, interpreting, and creating technical drawings
  • Knowledge of construction and assembly rules and regulations
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical equipment/projects related to data centers
  • Experience with monitoring systems (EPMS/SCADA/BMS)
