Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented Senior Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to join their Robotics Manufacturing and Technical Operations (RMTO) organization. This role focuses on developing test strategies and solutions for new robotics products, with emphasis on automation, cycle time reduction, and quality improvement. The position involves working with cross-functional teams globally to deliver high-quality robotics solutions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test development within complex manufacturing environments. You'll be responsible for developing test equipment, software, and processes for robotic systems, while working closely with engineering, production teams, and external vendors. The role requires both technical expertise and leadership skills, as you'll be mentoring junior engineers and providing cross-functional guidance across electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software domains.

Responsibilities For Mfg Test Development Engineer, Manufacturing Test and Controls

  • Develop equipment, software, and processes for acceptance testing of robotic systems
  • Specify and guide external in-circuit-test development with vendors
  • Write test procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria
  • Transfer test solutions to manufacturers
  • Guide manufacturing team in resolving complex problems
  • Propose design changes for manufacturability and testability
  • Evaluate and approve product Engineering Change Orders
  • Mentor junior engineers

Requirements For Mfg Test Development Engineer, Manufacturing Test and Controls

  • BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years related work experience in fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of test fixture design and automated test equipment
  • Experience designing electrical test interfaces
  • Expertise with test strategy development and implementation
  • Experience writing code to control equipment using high-level programming languages
