This role as a NAND SSD System Engineer offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge storage solutions that directly impact millions of AWS customers worldwide. You'll be responsible for leading the integration of advanced NAND technology into Nitro SSDs, working across multiple platforms to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities For NAND SSD System Engineer, Nitro SSD

  • Lead the integration of NAND technology with Nitro SSDs across multiple platforms
  • Develop strategies to improve SSD performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Oversee health, performance, and reliability of global fleet of millions of SSDs
  • Define NAND requirements and specifications
  • Choose manufacturing approach
  • Define and optimize integration validation process methodology
  • Drive innovation to enhance cost efficiency, reliability and performance
  • Fleet monitoring and large scale data analysis
  • Define metrics and drive strategies to enhance AWS service performance

Requirements For NAND SSD System Engineer, Nitro SSD

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of hands-on NAND characterization and development experience with SSD or other storage systems
  • Deep expertise with state-of-the-art of 3D NAND flash memory
  • Understanding of NAND device physics and failure mechanisms
  • Experience with failure analysis and debug
  • Experience with SSD back end firmware, SSD controller and NAND integration
  • Experience in data processing and analysis using Python/R or other scripting languages
