AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their Network Fabric Engineering (NFE) team within the Core Networking team. This role involves building, deploying, and scaling Amazon networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units across multiple global datacenters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and implementing network changes
- Collaborating with automation teams to define scaling tools
- Leading network projects in areas such as sustaining engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization
- Providing critical network support for large-scale networking events
- Troubleshooting network routing, interconnectivity, and configuration issues
- Driving innovation from Top of Rack to the Network Border
- Partnering with broader Network/Infrastructure teams on engineering and standards
- Maintaining networking toolset standards and ensuring compliance
- Delivering sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
- Creating and reviewing documentation for network implementations and procedures
The ideal candidate will have:
- 4+ years of experience in a network-focused technical role
- Experience with IP routing protocols/technologies in large-scale data center environments
- Skills in developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms for IP networks
- Experience in technical on-call roles, responding to and analyzing customer-impacting events
- 1+ years of experience in automation using Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and network security architecture
- Familiarity with various router, server load balancer, and firewall vendor platforms
