Description For Network Development Engineer, DCNE

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking exceptional Network Engineers to lead the development and operations of their Cloud Computing networks. As part of AWS Infrastructure Services, you'll join the team responsible for keeping the cloud running globally. The role involves end-to-end ownership of datacenter networks, including design, architecture, standards enforcement, security, and scalability.

The position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll be responsible for deploying and scaling network infrastructure across multiple global datacenters, supporting various AWS services, Amazon Retail, Kindle, and Payments platforms.

The ideal candidate should be highly autonomous, possess strong communication skills, and have a proven track record in delivering complex projects. You'll work closely with internal customers and automation teams, creating simple deployment processes and defining tools for unprecedented scaling. Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, DCNE

  • Deploy network infrastructure across all network fabrics supporting Amazon Retail Service, Kindle, Payments and AWS services
  • Deploy, scale and automate networks across multiple global datacenters
  • Drive scaling of current network designs to meet customer demand
  • Create simple, repetitive deployment processes
  • Work with internal customers on designs/solutions from concept to production
  • Create and update network standards
  • Create and implement network changes
  • Work with automation teams in defining scaling tools

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, DCNE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years experience network troubleshooting
  • 2+ year of professional development experience with Python or similar tool for network automation scripting
  • Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • Good working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
  • Strong Unix skills and the ability to script/program
  • Knowledge of L2 switching and L3 routing
