AWS Infrastructure Services is at the heart of AWS's global infrastructure, responsible for designing, planning, delivering, and operating all AWS data centers worldwide. The GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Deployment Organization is seeking a Network Development Engineer for their Backbone and Border Deployment New Regions Team. This role is crucial in maintaining and expanding AWS's vast network infrastructure that connects data centers globally.

The position involves working with cutting-edge network technologies and participating in large-scale enterprise network support. You'll be part of a diverse team including software, hardware, and network engineers, collaborating to ensure the highest standards of safety and security while optimizing network capacity and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities include implementing network changes, working with automation teams on scaling tools, leading network projects, and troubleshooting complex network issues. You'll partner with broader infrastructure teams on configuration standards and collaborate with various engineering teams to ensure smooth deployment of new designs and products.

Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer, GCNA Border Network

  • Create and implement changes on the network
  • Work with automation teams in defining scaling tools
  • Lead network projects in engineering, deployment, scaling, and optimization
  • Operate and troubleshoot network routing, interconnectivity, and configurations
  • Partner with Network/Infrastructure organization for standards and tools
  • Ensure fast roll-out of new designs and products
  • Maintain networking toolset standards and compliance
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes
  • Create and review network documentation and processes

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, GCNA Border Network

  • 1+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell and/or Perl experience
  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 1+ years of working in Linux/Unix environment experience
