AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their GCNA (Global Connectivity and Network Availability) Organization's EDGE team. This role is crucial in maintaining and evolving AWS's global network infrastructure, which serves as the backbone connecting AWS's worldwide network.

The position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge network technologies and be part of the team that keeps the cloud running. You'll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, working on some of the most challenging problems in cloud infrastructure. The role involves managing terabits of traffic and maintaining one of the largest edge surface areas in the world.

As a Network Development Engineer, you'll be responsible for creating and implementing network changes, working with automation teams, and leading network projects. You'll help sustain Amazon Web Services' next-generation networks by providing critical network support and troubleshooting complex networking issues. The role requires expertise in network routing protocols, Unix systems, and networking software tools.

Requirements For Network Development Engineer, Internet Edge Capacity

Linux
Python
  • 4+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 4+ years experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms to support IP network and/or networking systems
  • 4+ years experience in a technical on-call capacity
  • 1+ years of experience in automation via Bash/shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Must be comfortable working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Ability to work in a 24x7 team on call rotation
