Amazon's Operations Technology Engineering team is seeking a Network Development Engineer to join their LAN Ops & Reliability Team. This role is crucial in building and maintaining the wired and wireless networks that power Amazon's global fulfillment centers and transportation sites. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology, including robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, and drones.

The role combines hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, requiring expertise in network design, automation, and security. You'll be based in Dublin, working with a global team in a follow-the-sun model. As part of the OTIE LAN Ops & Reliability Team, you'll support multiple business units globally, from small delivery stations to advanced automated fulfillment centers across North America, Japan, and Europe. Responsibilities For Network Development Engineer (level 4), OTIE LAN Ops & Reliability

  • Provide technical thought leadership in the design of next-generation networks
  • Operate the largest fulfillment network in the world
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to network support teams
  • Drive root cause resolution of network events
  • Participate in follow-the-sun on-call rotation (one week every five weeks)
  • Coordinate efforts to quickly mitigate customer impact across regions

Requirements For Network Development Engineer (level 4), OTIE LAN Ops & Reliability

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area
  • Experience in automation via Bash/Shell scripting and Perl/Python programming
  • Experience in designing and operating large-scale, production networks
  • Experience with major routing protocols, specifically OSPF
  • Experience with routing and switching hardware from major vendors including Juniper and Cisco
  • Ability to work on a diverse team
