Description For Operations Engineer I

AWS is seeking highly motivated engineers for their Intelligence team to work with the U.S. Intelligence Community. This role focuses on implementing and operating some of the largest and most complex distributed systems in the world. As an Operations Engineer I, you'll be responsible for implementing innovative cloud computing solutions and solving complex technical problems. The position requires working with the latest cloud technologies to support U.S. Government agencies.

The role involves operating the Managed Service platform, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with internal teams to meet customer needs. You'll be working in a 24/7 operations environment, requiring flexibility with shifts. A key aspect is maintaining high security standards, as the position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

You'll be part of AWS's specialized service teams, where you'll help build and maintain critical infrastructure while ensuring optimal customer experience. Responsibilities For Operations Engineer I

  • Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and drive root cause analysis

  • Identify and drive improvements to technical processes
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Work on scheduled day shift in 24/7 operations environment

Requirements For Operations Engineer I

Linux
  • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND or Network+ or Security+
  • 1-3 years of experience with Systems Administration in Linux/Unix
  • 1-3 years of experience with Networking (TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph
