Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Operations Engineer I to join their Managed Services (AMS) team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of cloud technologies, specifically within AWS Managed Services, which accelerates cloud adoption through automation and machine learning.

As a member of the AWS Managed Services team, you'll collaborate with Operation, Database, and Network Engineers to tackle complex technical challenges. The role involves managing AWS infrastructure, automating common activities, and providing comprehensive lifecycle services for customer environments. You'll work with cutting-edge cloud technologies while supporting mission-critical applications for global companies.

The ideal candidate will thrive in an agile environment and have strong experience in database administration, CI/CD, and information security. You'll be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, building proof of concept environments, and serving as a technical escalation point for the team. This position requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities For Operations Engineer I, AWS Managed Services (AMS)

  • Operate the Managed Service platform and collaborate with internal service teams
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and drive root cause analysis
  • Build proof of concept environments following cloud best-practices
  • Collaborate and help build utilities and tools for internal use
  • Identify and drive improvements to technical processes
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor to less experienced engineers
  • Provide voice of the customer feedback to internal AWS teams
  • Drive customer communication during critical events
  • Work on a scheduled day shift

Requirements For Operations Engineer I, AWS Managed Services (AMS)

  • 3+ years of database administration experience
  • 3+ years of continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) experience
  • 3+ years of information security and compliance experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, or 3+ years of technical support experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
