Description For Operations Engineer - SHPE Conference Only, Operations Engineering

As an Operations Engineer at Amazon, you will lead and manage the lifecycle of challenging cross-functional projects, developing and delivering the next generation of sortation and distribution solutions. You will play an integral part in planning and implementing facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex projects across organizations and geographies
  • Participating in engineering reviews and impacting proposed solutions
  • Partnering with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Leading execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs
  • Conducting equipment/system installation, throughput, and safety qualifications
  • Leading effective meetings and driving technical discussions
  • Communicating project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans
  • Managing change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validations
  • Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identifying and leading process improvement initiatives

This role requires up to 80% domestic travel, which can be variable and consist of up to three weeks in a row, including weekends. You'll work with some of the most talented engineers in the design, development, and delivery of physical distribution systems around the globe.

Requirements For Operations Engineer - SHPE Conference Only, Operations Engineering

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Project Engineer, Process Engineer, Project Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or related occupation
  • Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems
  • Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.)
