Description For Position, Navigation and Timing Engineer, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global connectivity through a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites. As a Position, Navigation and Timing Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing critical navigation systems for this groundbreaking space technology project.

The role combines expertise in both hardware and software, focusing on PNT (Positioning, Navigation and Timing) systems that are crucial for satellite operations. You'll work with cutting-edge technology including GNSS receivers, IMU sensors, and local oscillators, developing embedded software for flight systems and terrestrial applications.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work on technology that will directly impact unserved and underserved communities worldwide by providing high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity. You'll be part of a dynamic team of RF, GNC, and software engineers, contributing to various aspects of the system from conceptual design to field testing.

The role demands a strong technical background with a Master's degree in a relevant field and at least 3 years of software engineering experience. You'll be responsible for developing simulation tools, conducting hardware-in-the-loop tests, and creating software for data analysis, making this an ideal position for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of aerospace, software, and navigation systems.

Amazon offers a competitive compensation package including a base salary range of $136,000 to $222,200, depending on location, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. This is a chance to be part of a transformative project that combines space technology with social impact, making it an exciting opportunity for candidates passionate about both technical innovation and global connectivity.
