Principal Broadcast Engineer, Amazon Live

The Principal Broadcast Engineer will lead the studio engineering efforts for Amazon Live's Production Technical Operations team. This role involves collaborating with the Head of Production Operations & Strategy to design, implement, and maintain advanced production systems in the Herald Square studio and cloud environments. Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and deploying on-premises, hybrid, and cloud-based production systems
• Leading technical broadcast planning, including network planning, encoder validation, and contingency planning
• Configuring and maintaining SDI video infrastructure and other production equipment
• Developing cloud-based production systems and IT infrastructure for expanded control room support
• Collaborating with Amazon Live teams to integrate new production systems and workflows
• Writing business narratives and presenting strategies to leadership
• Providing technical summaries and reviews of major events and broadcast issues
• Leading Security Reviews and Product Roadmap Reviews for new solutions
• Demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, excellent judgment, and passion for high standards

The role requires a strong background in broadcast technology, IT systems, and cloud computing, with the ability to innovate and implement superior workflow systems while building and leading a capable team.
