Description For Principal Engineer, Shopbop

Shopbop is seeking a Principal Engineer (PE) to lead the integration of Shopbop with Amazon core services, shape the technical vision for Shopbop and partner teams, and guide organization-wide roadmaps. As a PE at Shopbop, you'll act as an integrator, identifying customer problems and aligning solutions across Shopbop and Amazon tools. You'll innovate beyond standard procedures, obsess over customer experience, and work with world-class engineers to design long-term solutions. Your role involves using data and technical/business judgment to influence decision-making and contribute to complex project designs. Your impact will be felt by Shopbop customers globally across app, website, and fulfillment experiences.

Key responsibilities include: • Leading cross-functional, demanding projects • Ensuring high-quality system architecture and design • Decomposing complex problems into simple solutions • Understanding system interdependencies and limitations • Leveraging expert knowledge in performance, scalability, and engineering best practices • Mentoring others and guiding career growth • Exerting technical influence across multiple teams
