Description For Privacy Engineer, Incident Response

Amazon's Devices and Services Trust and Privacy (DSTP) team is seeking a Privacy Engineer specializing in Incident Response to join their dynamic organization. This role sits within the Trust Fundamentals' Privacy GRC team and is crucial for maintaining trust and privacy across Amazon's extensive portfolio of 30+ Devices and Services.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of privacy, security, and engineering, where you'll lead the response to privacy and data protection issues across the organization. You'll be part of a global team environment, applying your expertise to quickly contain incidents and work with cross-functional teams to implement long-term solutions.

As a Privacy Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing escalated privacy and trust risk events, developing comprehensive reports and recommendations, and influencing teams across the organization. The role requires a unique blend of technical expertise, privacy knowledge, and leadership skills, as you'll be working with engineers, product managers, legal teams, and other stakeholders to foster a Privacy by Design culture.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $136,000 to $212,800 per year, depending on location, plus additional benefits including equity and sign-on payments. Responsibilities For Privacy Engineer, Incident Response

  • Manage escalated privacy and trust risk events/cases from start to finish
  • Write detailed case notes, reports, summaries, and recommendations
  • Interact with and influence other teams to support decisions on containing incidents
  • Own delivery of large, impactful, and cross-functional program initiatives
  • Develop deep knowledge of global privacy and data governance obligations
  • Establish metrics and regular reporting mechanisms
  • Support deep dive assessments and ad-hoc data analysis
  • Track risk assessment, validation, adjudication, and remediation actions

Requirements For Privacy Engineer, Incident Response

Java
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, authentication, software development, cryptography, or network security experience
  • CCSP, CEH, CFR, Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GICSP, or PenTest+ certification
  • Experience in Security and Privacy Incident Response
  • Experience applying threat modeling or risk identification techniques
  • 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language
