Responsibilities For Product Design Engineer, Asia Development Center
- Lead product design from ID concept through mass production
- Collaborate with ID, product manager, EE, Reliability engineer to develop integrated solutions
- Perform design analysis and risk assessment
- Develop and maintain product specifications, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Work with contract manufacturers to resolve production issues
- Conduct DFM/DFA/DFX analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership
- Research materials and component technologies
- Provide manufacturing expertise and feature design advice
- Manage interaction with overseas resources
Requirements For Product Design Engineer, Asia Development Center
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent
- 5+ years of consumer electronics product development experience
- Expert proficiency in 3D surface modeling, 2D GD&T (preferably Creo 8+)
- Solid experience in plastic, metal, rubber and metal part design, CMF
- Knowledge of injection molding, stamping, die casting, painting, texturing processes
- Experience with product reliability testing and validation methods
- Solid experience with Failure Analysis and Root cause analysis
- Knowledge of SPC/CPK and Tolerance Analysis
- Analytic problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE
- Excellent communication skills
