Amazon Robotics is at the forefront of automation technology, designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions for Amazon's fulfillment centers. We're seeking a Product Support Engineer to join our Technical Support team, focusing on hardware and controls systems. This role combines hands-on technical problem-solving with strategic system improvements.

The position requires a blend of electrical engineering expertise and software knowledge, supporting complex robotics systems that are crucial to Amazon's operations. You'll work Tuesday through Saturday, 9am-5pm EST, with occasional travel (up to 15%) to customer sites. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced automation systems, including PLCs, industrial controls, and various robotics platforms.

As a Product Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for resolving critical technical issues, developing support processes, and driving product improvements. You'll collaborate with multiple engineering teams, mentor colleagues, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system reliability. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities For Product Support Engineer - AR Hardware and Controls, Amazon Robotics Technical Support (ARTS)

  • Leverage Support processes, systems and tools to resolve technical problems
  • Own problems through resolution, engaging technical subject matter experts
  • Provide remote technical support for escalated issues involving industrial automation systems
  • Assist local maintenance teams in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control system problems
  • Develop and execute command-line scripts
  • Create and maintain problem resolution procedures
  • Drive collaboration with Support, Software, Hardware and System Engineering teams
  • Develop training documentation and provide mentoring
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Own and drive Root Cause Analysis for critical issues

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5+ years experience or Master's degree with 3+ years experience
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Experience with PLC, IPC, Distributed IO, SCADA/HMI and Control Systems
  • Knowledge of sensors, actuators, robotics system components
  • Ability to read and interpret Block, Interconnect or Schematic Wiring Diagrams
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently
