Amazon Robotics is seeking a Senior Product Support Engineer to join their Technical Support team, focusing on hardware and controls for their cutting-edge robotics systems in fulfillment centers. This role combines technical expertise with customer support, requiring deep knowledge of industrial automation systems and robotics.

The position involves working Tuesday through Saturday (9am - 5pm EST) with occasional travel (up to 15%) to customer sites. You'll be responsible for resolving complex technical issues, providing remote support, and driving improvements in system performance and reliability. The role requires expertise in Linux systems, PLC programming, and industrial automation components.

As a Product Support Engineer, you'll collaborate with multiple teams, including Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineering, to resolve critical issues and implement preventive measures. You'll also participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 support coverage for critical systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in technical support, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities. Knowledge of industrial automation, robotics systems, and programming languages like Python and Java is essential. Responsibilities For Product Support Engineer - AR Hardware and Controls, Amazon Robotics Technical Support (ARTS)

  • Leverage Support processes, systems and tools to resolve technical problems
  • Provide remote technical support for escalated issues involving industrial automation systems
  • Develop and execute command-line scripts
  • Create and maintain problem resolution procedures
  • Drive collaboration with Support, Software, Hardware and System Engineering teams
  • Develop training documentation and provide mentoring
  • Own and drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Travel to customer sites (up to 15% yearly)

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related technical field and 5+ years experience
  • Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of PLC, IPC, Distributed IO, SCADA/HMI and Control Systems
  • Experience with sensors, actuators, EOATs, VFDs, PID motors
  • Ability to read and interpret Block, Interconnect or Schematic Wiring Diagrams
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently
