Description For Production Support Quality Engineer, 1st Shift, Project Kuiper

Project Kuiper, an ambitious Amazon initiative, is seeking a Production Support Quality Engineer to join their satellite manufacturing team. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining quality systems for their constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).

The position offers a competitive salary range of $87,800 to $217,400, depending on location and experience. Working on a 4x10 schedule (Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM), you'll be at the forefront of bringing fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Quality Engineer, you'll be responsible for reviewing and approving Nonconformance Reports, performing process and product audits, and ensuring products meet engineering specifications. You'll work directly with manufacturing personnel and quality team members, providing crucial oversight during the satellite production process.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in mechanical engineering or equivalent, with 1-3+ years of Quality Engineer experience in product assembly lines. Experience with MRB decisions is essential. Due to export control requirements, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or legally admitted refugees/asylees.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Amazon's space initiative at a time of ramping production. You'll be part of a team scaling aerospace quality to meet volume and cost requirements while maintaining the highest standards. The role offers comprehensive benefits, including medical coverage, equity compensation, and sign-on payments.

Working at Project Kuiper means being part of a mission to bridge the digital divide globally. You'll be involved in critical quality control processes that ensure the reliability and effectiveness of satellite systems that will provide internet connectivity to millions of people worldwide.

The role demands strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work decisively in ambiguous situations. You'll be expected to problem-solve independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Join Amazon's Project Kuiper team and be part of a revolutionary project that combines aerospace engineering with global connectivity solutions. Your work will directly impact the quality and reliability of satellites that will help bring internet access to underserved communities around the world.
