Description For Program Manager, Nearterm Linehaul Planning

Amazon's Transportation Operations team is seeking a Program Manager to assist in the management of daily freight movements flowing into and out of our North American fulfillment centers and our associated fulfillment network. This role is responsible for pulling and analyzing data with ease, driving process improvements, standardizing processes, and eliminating the root cause of defects within the current systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Continuous tactical communication with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Retail, Finance, Software Support, Fulfillment Centers)
  • Data analysis using various tools (Excel, Access, SQL) for ad hoc reporting
  • Developing performance metrics to drive business results
  • Leading initiatives to re-engineer business processes and eliminate root causes of defects
  • Scoping out business and functional requirements for Amazon tech teams
  • Understanding business impact of trends and making data-driven decisions
  • Systematic problem escalation and resolution follow-up
  • Working within time constraints to meet critical business needs
  • Clear communication of findings and variances to goals, including presenting in review forums
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders up to the L8 level
  • Creating 1-6 page documents to explain issues and solutions
  • Examining processes and data to find defects and solutions

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in process improvement, and the ability to work cross-functionally with both tech and non-tech teams.
