Description For Project Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Data Center Project Engineer to join their team responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This role is crucial in keeping the cloud running, supporting AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment. The position involves working directly on construction sites, interacting with construction managers and stakeholders to ensure fast, high-quality delivery of data center construction.

As a Data Center Project Engineer, you'll be part of a diverse team solving fascinating problems in constructing Amazon Data Centers. You'll work alongside Operations, Networking, Controls, Security, and Commissioning teams to build industry-leading, energy-efficient, and cost-effective data centers. Your responsibilities include managing communication coordination with vendors, information workflow, and document management including RFIs, change orders, and schedule updates.

The role offers unique opportunities to own everything from design review to construction execution. You'll be joining a diverse, upbeat, creative team of engineers and managers working daily to develop innovative data centers. Responsibilities For Project Engineer

  • Establishing communication and coordination across data center region's contractors, stakeholders, and internal teams
  • Develop and maintain tracking system for design changes, RFIs, and change orders
  • Requesting and reviewing MOPs (Method of Procedure)
  • On-boarding new vendors for badging and orientation
  • Updating project management software with milestone dates
  • Monitor delivery of owner furnished material to site
  • Compiling and storing construction data from vendors
  • Managing various checklists including substantial completion checks, safety, and quality

Requirements For Project Engineer

Linux
  • A four-year degree in technical field (engineering, construction management) or trade school OR 4+ years related construction experience
  • +2 years experience working in construction industry or engineering organization
  • Experience updating and managing construction data including milestone dates, RFIs, design changes, and change orders
