Description For Quality Assurance Engineer II, Auto Software (Smart Vehicles)

Quality Assurance Engineers (QAEs) at Amazon test cutting edge applications and products at the user level and code level, both manually and with automated tools. Our QAEs understand software components, perform manual testing, and write automated tests with scripting tools. They collaborate with Development, Product Management, User Experience, and Customer Support groups to understand customer usage models and develop test plans and suites that approximate real-world environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive all phases of testing: create test plans, write and execute test cases, and promote continuous improvements to the quality assurance processes for Ring automotive products.
  • Work closely with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle, including requirements gathering and design.
  • Consult with and advise project management and development teams on technical issues related to planning, developing, implementing, and modifying testing procedures.
  • Provide regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed.
