Description For Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Regional Environmental Engineer, you will lead the environmental regulatory compliance function of your assigned area. You'll be responsible for advancing environmental performance culture and improving the regulatory adherence of our data centers, protecting the environment through environmental incident prevention, investigation, and mitigation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regular interactions with customers delivering environmental performance leadership and guidance
  • Implementing environmental standards, policies, and practices
  • Conducting environmental compliance audits
  • Performing environmental incident investigations and developing corrective actions
  • Maintaining compliance record keeping and data integrity
  • Performing data trend analysis
  • Consulting with compliance and legal teams
  • Representing Amazon at governmental agencies
  • Preparing and submitting reports to governmental agencies
  • Identifying improvement opportunities

You'll work in a fast-paced environment where operations are rapidly changing, advocating for compliant changes in the face of new infrastructure, tools, and processes. Requirements For Regional Environmental Engineer, AWS Environmental

  • BA/BS degree in environmental science, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience as an environmental technical resource, compliance specialist, program specialist, or program manager
  • Experience with regulatory assessments and managing environmental compliance
  • Applied knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental laws, regulations, and standards
