Description For RF Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites aimed at providing high-speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities worldwide. As an RF Engineer in the Kuiper Government Solutions team, you'll play a crucial role in developing innovative satellite communication systems.

The position involves working with cutting-edge RF and Microwave technology in the Ka/K bands, leading various aspects from RF board design to system-level analysis. You'll be part of a multi-disciplinary team that develops targeted solutions for government agencies and other specific customers.

This role offers unique opportunities to work on complex space technology programs while collaborating with diverse, talented teams and government partners. You'll be responsible for designing RF communications payloads, developing link budgets, and ensuring solutions meet customer requirements through detailed analysis and testing.

Responsibilities For RF Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

  • Interact directly with customers to understand technical requirements
  • Implement RF wireless system and physical layer performance of multiple wireless components
  • Design RF and communications payloads on commercial bus and terrestrial ground terminals
  • Develop RF link budget, frequency planning, and filter requirements
  • Perform RF design and layout trade studies for satellite RF and Microwave sub-systems
  • Deliver documentation, reports, and presentations for technical design reviews
  • Design and support test campaigns for space hardware
  • Utilize RF analysis tools including ADS, HFSS, MO, and SystemVue

Requirements For RF Engineer, Kuiper Government Solutions

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
  • Experience in RF design simulation using ADS, HFSS, or AWR (preferred)
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (preferred)
