Responsibilities For Robotics Control Engineer, Amazon Robotics

  • Design, simplify and continuously improve system controls architecture
  • Develop controls code utilizing structured text on Codesys platforms
  • Identify and implement system optimizations
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineering team members
  • Partner with hardware engineering team on developing systems from prototyping to production
  • Launch, test, and debug systems both in lab and field
  • Develop tools and best practices for system monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Work with stakeholders across hardware, science, and operations teams
  • Contribute to value engineering of system's electrical and controls hardware components

Requirements For Robotics Control Engineer, Amazon Robotics

Linux
  • BS / MS Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar field)
  • Experience with design or architecture of new and existing systems
  • Experience with programming with at least one software programming language
  • Experience with developing production motion control systems for robotics or industrial automation
  • Experience with C++, CodeSys, Allen-Bradley PLCs, Siemens PLCs, or similar
  • Demonstrated experience with IEC standards (eg IEC 61131-3) for programming controls for robotics
  • Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional Safety standards
  • Solid debugging skills
  • Dedication to rigorous testing practices and design process flows
