Responsibilities For Security Engineer, Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations

  • Analyze public and private vulnerability disclosures and exploit code
  • Assess technical details and potential impact of vulnerabilities across Amazon's infrastructure
  • Investigate and triage vulnerabilities, identifying severity and scope of impact
  • Support response and remediation efforts with builder teams
  • Engineer scalable vulnerability detection mechanisms
  • Design and implement automation, tools and workflows

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP)
  • 5 years security engineering experience
  • 5 years experience developing vulnerability assessment tests
  • 5 years experience improving vulnerability detection mechanisms
  • 3 years experience troubleshooting networking, operating systems, applications, or cloud services
  • 3 years experience building cloud-based services
  • Programming experience in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar
