Amazon's Reliability & Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join their dynamic operations team. This role is crucial in maximizing equipment reliability and operational performance in Amazon's fulfillment centers, working with state-of-the-art technology including conveyors, sortation systems, and robotics.

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and optimizing complex automation systems that power Amazon's vast logistics network. You'll work with cutting-edge technology, including PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and SCADA systems, while leading cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities For Senior Automation Engineer - Oxnard, CA, ARS-OXR1-RME

  • Serve as the site expert for maintaining automation systems critical to operations
  • Collaborate with building Operations, Engineering teams, and various other teams for systems optimization
  • Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks
  • Monitor MHE metrics and address system performance issues
  • Provide second-level escalation support to site technicians and automation engineers
  • Facilitate Failure Analysis and Incident Review processes
  • Perform and analyze building System Assessments
  • Communicate technical issues and project timelines to stakeholders

Requirements For Senior Automation Engineer - Oxnard, CA, ARS-OXR1-RME

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology or equivalent, or 4+ years of professional or military experience
  • 2+ years of experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis
  • 2+ years of experience with robotics work cells and control systems
  • 2+ years of experience with Ladder Logic and structure programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs
  • 2+ years of experience with electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment
  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
