Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for their Security Incident Response team, focusing on national security programs. This role combines technical expertise with leadership in protecting AWS infrastructure used by national security customers. The position requires deep technical knowledge in security engineering, including cryptography, network security, software security, malware analysis, forensics, and incident response.
The ideal candidate will excel in high-pressure situations, thinking both offensively and defensively while coordinating with various teams to mitigate risks. They must balance technical challenges with business needs and effectively communicate with leadership at all levels. The role demands expertise in log analysis, incident response, forensics, system development, and risk assessment.
Key responsibilities include responding to and preventing security incidents, designing coordinated responses across teams, building security tools, and implementing best practices. The position requires U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Responsibilities For Senior AWS Incident Response Engineer, Cleared, US Amazon Dedicated Cloud Security
- Respond to security incidents and prevent future occurrences
- Design and coordinate security event responses across multiple teams
- Build security utilities and tools for internal use
- Communicate effectively at multiple levels of sensitivity
- Implement security best practices throughout the organization
- Fulfill regular on-call responsibilities
- Perform log analysis, incident response, forensics, and risk assessment
Requirements For Senior AWS Incident Response Engineer, Cleared, US Amazon Dedicated Cloud Security
- Bachelor's degree or relevant security certifications (CCSP, CEH, CFR, Cloud+, CySA+, GCED, GICSP, PenTest+)
- 7+ years of experience in systems, network, and/or application security
- Experience on a Security Operations team with SIEM products
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Must be a U.S. citizen
