Description For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SCOT Inventory Placement

As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer within Amazon's Inventory Placement team, you'll be part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies organization. This role combines data analytics, system optimization, and business intelligence to improve Amazon's global fulfillment network. You'll work with large-scale data sets, creating analytical solutions using advanced technologies like Redshift, Datanet, and Python.

Your work will directly impact how Amazon determines optimal placement for inventory across its worldwide fulfillment network, balancing shipping speed and cost efficiency. You'll collaborate with Research Scientists, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to analyze system behaviors and drive improvements. The role requires deep technical expertise in SQL, data processing, and AWS technologies, combined with the ability to translate complex business problems into actionable analytical solutions.

  • Design, build, and scale analytical solutions to solve business needs
  • Create end-to-end analytical solutions using technologies like Redshift, Datanet, Quicksight, Cradle, Python

Requirements For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SCOT Inventory Placement

  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
