As a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer within Amazon's Placement team, you'll join a high-performance Business Intelligence team focused on optimizing Amazon's global supply chain operations. You'll be responsible for conducting end-to-end analytics across advanced Amazon systems, working with large-scale data to drive optimization and scalability of placement operations. The role combines deep technical expertise in data engineering, analytics, and AWS technologies with business impact.

Your work will involve designing and implementing analytical solutions using technologies like Redshift, Datanet, Quicksight, and Python. You'll be crucial in understanding complex system behaviors, spotting defects, and creating tools that enhance Amazon's ability to serve customers efficiently. The position requires strong SQL and programming skills, with experience in handling multi-TB datasets and implementing automation solutions.

The Inventory Placement team, part of the Supply Chain Optimization Technologies organization, focuses on developing state-of-the-art algorithms for optimal unit placement across Amazon's global Fulfillment Network. The compensation package is comprehensive, including a base salary range of $117,300 to $202,800 depending on location, plus equity, sign-on payments, and extensive benefits. Responsibilities For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SCOT Inventory Placement

  • Design, build, and scale analytical solutions to solve business needs
  • Create end-to-end analytical solutions using technologies like Redshift, Datanet, Quicksight, Cradle, Python
  • Deep dive into Placement systems and their interactions with other SCOT systems
  • Translate business questions into quantitative questions using available data
  • Explore/analyze data to understand system behaviors and spot defects
  • Coach junior team members about Placement systems and data analytics best practices
  • Engage in continuous learning initiatives

Requirements For Senior Business Intelligence Engineer, SCOT Inventory Placement

Python
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • 5+ years of professional or military experience
  • Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets
  • Experience in scripting for automation and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience with AWS technologies
  • Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining
  • Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results
