Senior Colocation Regional Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Senior Colo Regional Engineer, you will drive Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction and implementation of enterprise data centers, which meet quality and performance levels across the globe. You will work directly with Design Engineering Stakeholders, Construction, Operations, and Commissioning teams regionally and globally.

Key responsibilities include:

• Reviewing designs for new Data Centers in your region
• Acting as resident engineer during new colo construction projects
• Troubleshooting and conducting Root Cause Analysis for site/equipment failures
• Supporting operational issues and providing technical support for data center upgrades
• Interfacing with various teams to promote standards for consistency and reliability
• Leading engineering site audits and complex root cause analysis

The ideal candidate possesses strong engineering judgment, is detail and data-oriented, has experience managing engineering projects and consultants, and can build trust with different stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience
• Cumulative 7+ years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience directly related to data center design
• Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region
• Experience with mission-critical facilities, especially data centers
• Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant
