Description For Senior Controls Colo Regional Engineer

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As a Senior Controls Colo Engineer, you will work with internal business teams and colocation vendors to identify, document, and resolve operational/design deficiencies that could impact a site's capability or availability. You'll provide full life-cycle support to Data Centers from design inception through site improvement and maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing new and existing standards with the control team of DCE Colocation Design and Standards (CoDeS)
  • Performing design and equipment submittal review for Controls for new Colo Data Centers
  • Reviewing and identifying risks within the scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS)
  • Reviewing and accepting proposed changes to site-specific control infrastructure
  • Supporting design for existing Colo Data Center control system upgrades
  • Troubleshooting, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and creating Corrective Action (CA) documentation
  • Conducting site audits of Colo Data Centers
  • Supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover for Controls for new construction projects
  • Leading internal team training and knowledge sharing sessions on Colo controls

The ideal candidate should possess strong engineering judgment, be detail- and data-oriented, have experience managing engineering projects and consultants, and be able to build trust and relationships with different stakeholders.

Requirements For Senior Controls Colo Regional Engineer

Linux
  • B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or related engineering degree
  • 7+ years related experience
  • 7+ years of experience in project coordination with multiple teams or vendors
