Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to deliver fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, serving consumers, businesses, and government agencies.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of developing software applications and services for this advanced global telecom service. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and operating globally available distributed systems focused on managing and monitoring Kuiper's terrestrial devices. The role involves building systems using cutting-edge AWS technologies while adhering to industry-best software engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include evangelizing engineering excellence, mentoring junior engineers, and actively participating in product strategy and UI presentation. You'll be involved in every aspect of UI development – from ideation to technical design and implementation. Collaboration with Software Development Engineers, Product Managers, and UX Designers is crucial to ensure optimal customer experience.
The team owns the development of architecture, solutions, and roadmap for managing the customer lifecycle for telecom services, including identity and account management, subscriber management, billing and payments, customer support tools, and analytics. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact projects while ensuring compliance with Amazon's accessibility standards.
