Description For Senior Hardware Dev Engineer, AWS Generative AI & ML Servers

AWS Infrastructure Services is seeking a Senior Hardware Dev Engineer to join their Accelerated Server Hardware Engineering team. This role focuses on designing and operating Amazon's fleet of Accelerated Servers using Internal Amazon design silicon or specialized purpose accelerators. The position involves working with cutting-edge server technology, managing third-party ODMs, and integrating components to produce high-quality designs for AWS customers.

The role requires deep expertise in server development, system design, and problem-solving. You'll be responsible for owning the design and operations of a brand new segment of servers for the AWS fleet, working closely with cross-functional teams including component, firmware, test, qualification, and integration engineers. The position offers exposure to internal and external AWS customers and the opportunity to work on some of the most challenging infrastructure problems at scale.

As part of the AWS Hardware Engineering organization, you'll apply your technical experience to improve how we detect, root cause, and remediate issues. The role involves leading cross-functional investigations and defining changes needed to deliver results. The team operates with a startup mindset, delivering fully functional solutions for customers while maintaining the highest standards for safety and security.

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $128,600 to $213,600 per year, depending on location and experience, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Senior Hardware Dev Engineer, AWS Generative AI & ML Servers

  • Own and lead the design, development and root cause of a new segment of accelerated servers
  • Work with customers to understand technical needs and business goals
  • Interface with internal and external customers for project requirements
  • Work directly with vendors and ODM/JDM design teams
  • Oversee fleet of servers, monitoring quality and customer requirements
  • Develop hardware and software systems to detect and mitigate issues

Requirements For Senior Hardware Dev Engineer, AWS Generative AI & ML Servers

  • BSEE or equivalent
  • Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
  • Experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
