Senior Hardware Dev Engineer, Ring PD team

We are seeking a talented and motivated Senior Product Design Engineer (BS minimum) to join the Ring Product Design team in developing new products. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to drive, analyze, and delve deep into all aspects of hardware design. Experience in designing consumer electronics products is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate concepts and mechanical designs for new products in collaboration with the ID team
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Partner with PM teams on product requirements
• Manage and drive vendors for project finalization
• Create functional prototypes and be hands-on in the process
• Clearly and concisely express and document ideas, issues, test results, etc.
• Develop documentation for vendors (CAD, detailed drawings, optical simulations, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/MS in Mechanical/Optical Engineering
• Extensive industry design experience
• Experience in consumer electronics product development, including plastic, die-cast, and sheet metal parts design
• Experience with optical-related designs such as camera lens implementation and illumination
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, especially for consumer or computer hardware
• Understanding of manufacturing processes for metals and commonly used plastics
• Quick prototyping skills
• Proficiency in GD&T based on ISO or ASME standards
• Strong work ethic and excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experienced CAD user (Creo/SolidWorks)
• Experienced PLM system user
• Good written and spoken English

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to interpret simulation results, such as thermal, optical & deformation analysis
