Senior Innovation Engineer

Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) is seeking a Senior Innovation Engineer to join their Middle Mile Engineering Programs (MMEP) Innovation & Engineering team. This role focuses on developing cutting-edge process-centric and sustainable infrastructure concepts for material handling systems. The position offers an opportunity to directly influence future infrastructure designs and work on groundbreaking solutions that exceed industry standards.

The role involves designing innovative material handling systems, creating efficient processes, and developing sustainable infrastructure concepts. You'll work closely with EU and NA engineering teams, collaborating on projects that impact Amazon's transportation network efficiency. The position requires a strong process engineering mindset and operational understanding of Middle Mile or Last Mile operations.

Key aspects of the role include developing novel material handling concepts, creating detailed flow diagrams, and driving design reviews. You'll be responsible for working with various stakeholders including ACES, WWDE, and leadership teams to ensure optimal implementation of solutions. The role offers significant travel opportunities (25-50%) across European Middle Mile Nodes and corporate offices.

The ideal candidate will bring experience in automated material handling equipment, process design based on Lean Principles, and capital project management.
