Amazon Robotics is seeking a talented Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. This role combines innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork to develop and implement cutting-edge robotics solutions. The position involves working with autonomous robotic solutions, transitioning them from design to production while applying design for X principles.
As a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the manufacturing processes of Amazon's robotics systems. You'll work cross-functionally with teams across Amazon globally, managing product lifecycle changes, leading quality improvement projects, and driving technical root cause analysis for supplier defects. The role requires a blend of technical expertise in both mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly with components like DC Gearmotors, encoders, plastics (injection molding), PCB assemblies, sensors, and cameras. You'll be responsible for making critical business decisions and maintaining high quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities For Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
- Provide manufacturing and scalability guidance/feedback on Mechanical and electromechanical designs
- Guide best practices on manufacturing tolerances using GD&T
- Launch tooling with accelerated schedules and assess project risk
- Review external production processes, identify risk and mitigate
- Qualify production processes based on dimensional data, control plans
- Drive internal and external PFMEA reviews
- Solve technical problems across manufacturing commodities
- Mentor team members and design engineers
- Propose design changes for product sustainability
- Evaluate and approve product electrical Engineering Changes Orders (ECOs)
- Evaluate production, supplier and field failures for root cause analysis
Requirements For Senior Manufacturing Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
- BSME/EE or equivalent required
- 6+ years of relevant work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated expertise with new product development
- Familiarity with industry standard tools for problem solving and risk management
- Broad manufacturing commodity background (Mechanical and Electrical)
- Deep commodity experience with DC Gearmotors, encoders, plastics, PCB assemblies, sensors, cameras, or cables
- Up to 30% travel required
