Senior Mechanical Engineer, Packaging Innovation, MSP

The Mechanical Engineer designs automated packaging platforms and supporting systems to enable faster and more efficient delivery to Amazon's customers. The primary role is to provide technical ownership and refinement of packaging platforms and automation systems. Working with Electrical and Controls teams, the engineer will execute the design and manufacturing of Amazon's in-house packaging machinery and automation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with cross-functional engineers to design and execute packaging machinery and automation projects
• Executing mechanical design workstreams for core module evolution, structural member design, safety/guarding, and ancillary systems integration
• Delivering engineering workstreams including drive system modeling, load and bearing calculations, torque simulations, and 3D/2D model design
• Executing detailed design evolution of modules and subsystems
• Partnering with Electrical Engineering to ensure complete project documentation
• Supporting safety certification of projects and platforms

The role is part of the Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging (MSP) organization, which aligns mechatronics and packaging to develop, deploy, and scale automated solutions across Amazon's Fulfillment Network. The team focuses on integrating solutions into brownfield and greenfield deployments with safety as a top priority, while also working on sustainable packaging solutions that impact the entire Amazon Stores supply chain and customer experience.
