Description For Senior Network Development Engineer, Kuiper Enterprise Engineering

Project Kuiper is an ambitious initiative by Amazon to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). The mission is to bridge the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide.

As a Senior Network Development Engineer in Kuiper Enterprise Engineering, you'll have end-to-end ownership of current and future IP networks. The role combines technical leadership with hands-on engineering, requiring expertise in network design, implementation, and operations. You'll be instrumental in building the infrastructure that powers Kuiper's research, development, and design teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the design and evolution of highly available hyper-scale networks
  • Defining and influencing strategy within and outside the team
  • Working closely with network engineers and software developers to automate network deployment
  • Driving operational excellence projects
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers
  • Supporting off-hours operations escalation rotation

The position offers competitive compensation ranging from $143,200 to $247,600 per year, depending on location and experience. Amazon provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, financial, and other benefits, plus potential equity and sign-on payments.

You'll be joining the Kuiper Enterprise Technology team, which provides internal systems, networks, devices, and productivity services that power Project Kuiper. The team is committed to creating an inclusive environment where people can deliver their best work.

  • Network design, engineering, implementation, and/or operations experience
