Description For Senior Process Engineer, RDE NA Process Engineering

Amazon Robotics is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their RDE NA Process Engineering (PE) team. This role is crucial in developing frameworks for new technology onboarding and deployment optimization. The position combines industrial engineering expertise with robotics deployment at scale, making it perfect for engineers passionate about automation and process improvement.

The role involves creating and optimizing deployment processes for Amazon's robotics and automation systems, working with vendors and third-party assemblers, and ensuring quality control throughout the deployment lifecycle. You'll be responsible for implementing Lean engineering principles, developing standard processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

As a Senior Process Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to work on global deployments, partner with suppliers on manufacturing solutions, and lead process improvement projects that directly impact Amazon's automation capabilities. The position requires strong technical skills, experience with industrial engineering techniques, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities For Senior Process Engineer, RDE NA Process Engineering

  • Create standard processes for vendors and 3rd party assemblers (3PAs), including inline quality control check points
  • Employ Lean engineering and industrial engineering principles to prepare and optimize robotics and automation systems
  • Leverage Design for Deployment (DfX) methodologies and Value Stream Mapping techniques
  • Partner with suppliers and assist in manufacturing tooling and fixturing
  • Support in-field deployments at various Amazon locations globally
  • Create troubleshooting and best practices documentation
  • Interpret data sets into information and opportunities for process improvement
  • Structure and develop implementation plan and work with cross functional leaders

Requirements For Senior Process Engineer, RDE NA Process Engineering

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any discipline) or related technical field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in high technology or a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency using operational metrics, industrial process development, Lean and industrial engineering techniques/tools like Kaizen
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving tools (5 Why's, Fishbone, 8D)
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30% per year
