Description For Senior SDE, Kuiper Telemetry and Command

Project Kuiper is Amazon's ambitious initiative to revolutionize global connectivity through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). This role presents a unique opportunity to join a mission-critical team responsible for developing foundational services that manage and operate the satellite constellation and ground stations.

As a Senior SDE on the Kuiper Telemetry and Command team, you'll be at the forefront of space technology, working on systems that directly impact the successful functioning of the entire satellite network. Your work will encompass crucial areas including Telemetry, Contact Orchestration, Commanding, and File Transfer systems - all of which are fundamental to the constellation's operations.

The position offers an exciting blend of technical leadership and hands-on development. You'll be working with cutting-edge AWS technologies to build highly available services that must maintain mission-critical reliability and performance. The role requires someone who can not only architect and develop robust systems but also mentor team members and help establish strong engineering practices.

This is more than just a software engineering role - it's an opportunity to contribute to closing the digital divide globally. Your work will directly impact Project Kuiper's mission to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide. The systems you build will serve multiple teams and play a crucial role in managing a complex satellite network.

The compensation package is highly competitive, ranging from $151,300 to $261,500 annually, depending on location, plus additional benefits including equity, sign-on payments, and comprehensive medical and financial benefits. This is a unique opportunity to join Amazon's space initiative and make a lasting impact on global connectivity while working with cutting-edge technology in the aerospace sector.
